More about Michele

Michele has spent the last two decades collaborating with some of Florence’s most prestigious civil law public notary firms and accounting firms, gaining extensive expertise in corporate and commercial law as well as real estate investments, with a particular focus on sophisticated real estate transactions involving foreign investors.

His practice covers both the daily legal support provided to individuals and families and in-house activity for international companies based in the European Union, US, the Middle East, Russia, and Asia, operating in different fields. These fields include luxury, fashion, software houses, real estate investment groups, and road infrastructure.

In the 2019 CBS Sunday Morning Jane Pauley special on Florence/Tuscany, Michele Capecchi shared his expertise on the intricate process of securing dual citizenship for individuals with Italian heritage. Michele provides tailored support and guidance to hundreds of clients annually in this field, expertly assisting them through the complicated reacquisition procedure for Italian citizenship by descent. His invaluable aid is especially sought after for “1948 cases” concerning the maternal side of families.

In 2016 he was ranked as TOP 1000 World Trademark Professionals (2016 ed.), by WTR 1000, the standalone research directory published by the UK magazine World Trademark Review.

Michele is responsible for overseeing a wide range of legal tasks, including but not limited to joint venture agreements, non-disclosure agreements, letters of intent, trade agreements, licenses, and intellectual property management and transfer, to facilitate cross-border business operations.

He places great emphasis on providing high-quality services to his private clients and maintaining clear and consistent communication with them throughout all stages of their lives, including the draft of wills, personal injury claims, international divorces, international child custody and alimony, and other family-related matters.

Michele has received extensive training in civil litigation, where he represents both individuals and companies in areas such as civil law, commercial issues (such as real estate transactions, bankruptcy proceedings, insolvency, torts, and breach of contracts), and criminal trials, primarily as a representative of crime victims.

He has been teaching an International Business Law course at the European School of Economics for many years and has also established and organized an international conference and congress there.

Michele also collaborates on various projects with The Chamber of Commerce of Florence and the Florence International Mediation Chamber of the Chamber of Commerce (FIDRA).

Since 2011, he has been a legal columnist with The Florentine, the bespoke international magazine of the expats community of Florence.
